We ran into old friends Bob and Sheila Joynt at Lou Natenshon’s Open House and were very happy to see both of them after several years. They asked Old Cars Weekly if we knew of any interesting BMWs that might fit into one of their themes this year. That sounded like an open invitation for anyone who has such a car to get in touch with them through the show’s website, which is www.genevaconcours.net.
There’s plenty of time to get your BMW registered. It won’t be until August 28 that Classic Car enthusiasts will gather together again in Geneva, Illinois to view a beautiful collection of antique, classic and modern automobiles. Participants from all over the country will be displaying their prized automobiles on Third Street and hoping to be awarded one of the coveted "Benz" Trophies.
This year the display of automobiles will include three feature groups celebrating their birthdays. 2016 is the 100th Birthday of the Packard Twin Six Automobile, the 100th Birthday of BMW and the 50th Birthday of the Shelby Mustang.
Third Street is the heart of Geneva's charming downtown shopping district lined with shops, restaurants, parks and historical buildings. The event will be open to the public at no cost making this a wonderful family event with something for everyone to enjoy and marvel.
Bob and Sheila said that the show will be held August 28, 2016 from 10:00am to 4:00 pm. The beneficiary of this year's event will be the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. For more details visit the Website mentioned above or contact: Geneva Concours d'Elegance, NFP202, Campbell Street, Suite1A, Geneva, IL 60134 or call (630) 584-3107.
