ARLINGTON, Texas _ Worldwide Auctioneers' 16th annual Texas auction will relocate from Houston to the Arlington Convention center in Dallas. The Texas Classic Auction is scheduled for Saturday April 22, running in conjunction with the no-reserve Monical Collection Auction on Friday, April 21.
The event kicks off with the Monical Collection Auction, an eclectic lineup of cars assembled over the years by Texas collector Bobby Monical. "We've been long-time friends with the Monical family and we're delighted to have been offered the chance to present this great collection entirely without reserve," said John Kruse, principal owner and auctioneer. "There is something for everyone here, from antique to pre-war motorcars, through '50s convertibles, trucks and quintessential American sports cars and there is something a little special about every car." Among the highlights are a decorated 1953 Chevrolet Corvette roadster, recipient of a coveted Duntov Award and an AACA Senior Award-winning 1959 Ford Custom Ranchero pickup.
The Texas Classic Auction starts on Saturday at 11 a.m. with more than 100 cars lined up to go under the hammer. Also moving to Arlington for the first time is the 6th annual Concours d'Elegance of Texas, scheduled for Sunday, April 23.
