Collection of nine cars from 1967-71 includes a Plymouth Superbird, three Chevrolet Yenko models and two Ford Mustangs
WASHINGTON – U.S. Marshals are holding a live and Web simulcast auction in Lodi, New Jersey, Friday to sell nine rare American muscle cars, including a 1970 Plymouth Superbird. The sale follows the guilty plea of David Nicoll to federal bribery and money laundering charges in U.S. v. Biodiagnostic Laboratory Services et al. in U.S. District Court in Newark.
The auction starts at 11 a.m. Friday at A. J. Willner Auctions, MSN Auction Facility, 39 Robinson Rd., Lodi. A public preview will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registered bidders can conduct more detailed inspections from 1-5 p.m. Thursday.
Registration is open until 4 p.m. Thursday and requires a refundable deposit of $10,000.
The cars were ordered for sale by U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chesler July 23. Net proceeds will be held in escrow. The court may later order the funds be made available as restitution to the victims in the case.
