Race engine shop destroyed by fire

Tarkington, TX - According to the Eastex Advocate, Tarkington Race Engine sustained major fire damage to its facility. Around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 25th fire broke out and destroyed the business.

Taylor Lastor [owner] stated that he was working on an engine when it “blew up,” and fire quickly engulfed the shop.

Lastor deemed the building and the $400,000 in equipment inside a total loss. Luckily, the business was insured.
