Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1996 Dodge Viper R/T/10 roadster
V-10 Dodge flagship muscle could be yours. This Viper will cross the block at RM Sotheby’s March 25-26 sale in Ft. Lauderdale.
Vipers have sort of become the cicadas of the super car world. They don't seem to come out that often, and when they do show up in public, they don't seem to be around very long before they disappear again.
For some reason, we just don't see many on the street these days, and there really aren't a lot of them crossing the stages of the big auction houses, either. Eventually, we figure these bad boys are going to be true collector prizes, even if they will always get mixed reviews for their practicality on the streets and downright hairy personalities. Even guys who have 'em and love 'em don't seem to drive their Vipers much.
We don't care, we still want one, and we'll take this '95 in the rare yellow color. We'd blow the dust off that 400-hp V-10 under the hood and pile a few quick miles on the odometer, which right now shows a paltry 4,600 rounds (see what we mean about guys never driving these things!!).
This one will be up for bids in RM Sothebys' Fort Lauderdale auction March 25-26. It's sure to find a few eager bidders there. Getting in on the bidding would definitely raise our pulse rate.
