Change is constant, and at the AACA Eastern Division National Fall Meet in Hershey, Pa., Oct. 4-7, event participants ' who are accustomed to changes at Hershey ' witnessed firsthand how true that is.
In addition to a couple of swap meet fields vanishing and two more appearing elsewhere, the car corral and car show found new locations from previous years, as well. All in all, hobbyists found their way through the huge annual spectacle easily and enjoyed what is still the greatest old car hobby event in the world.
For first-timers and seasoned veterans alike, Hershey can be nearly overwhelming, as the swap meet fields stretch to the horizon, and the car corral and car show are filled with such rare and quality vehicles that seeing them all is a difficult ' but happy ' pursuit.
Good things come to those who wait, however, and many who were patient enough to stroll through every swap meet aisle this year found at least one item they needed for their car, automotive project, or collection.
The relocated car show, which was in a park-like setting in the southwest sector of the grounds, took on a concours-like feeling as the vehicles were. As in previous years, crowds gathered to see the rare and wonderful vehicles.
The 2007 Hershey meet will be Oct. Mark your calendars now to be part of the fun! Watch for more details in Old Cars Weekly, and at www.aaca.org.
