Getting into the gaming spirit at the Lane Motor Museum in 2024
‘First Person Fantasies: Video Game Cars’ to open January 25th at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nashville, Tenn. – Lane Motor Museum is set to open three new major exhibits this year. The first to open, First Person Fantasies: Video Game Cars, highlights vehicles from the museum’s vast collection that have appeared in numerous video games. The exhibit opens on January 25, 2024, and runs through January 27, 2025.
Video games allow people to experience things they often can’t in the real world. Say, for example, driving some of the rare and unique vehicles in Lane Motor Museum’s collection.
That fantasy can be played out virtually through video games. Several of the museum’s cars are featured in racing and driving games.
Lane Motor Museum will exhibit the most well-known video game cars from their collection, from the tiny Peel P-50 to Group B rally cars like the MG Metro 6R4. Come see these cars firsthand and watch actual gameplay clips from the biggest titles…and live out your First Person Fantasies!
Derek E. Moore, Curator of Collections at Lane Motor Museum, has this to say about the exhibit, “First Person Fantasies is an incredible opportunity for the museum to connect the ever-expanding virtual world of automobiles to the tangible, real-world vehicles that are utilized to develop their digital counterparts which allow younger generations exposure to rare vehicles they may not otherwise know exist in the automotive world.”
About Lane Motor Museum: The mission of Lane Motor Museum shall be to collect, preserve, document, and interpret an eclectic and technically interesting collection of cars and other transportation-related objects for the purposes of educating the public about the history of transportation.
Lane Motor Museum is one of the few museums in the U.S. to specialize in European cars. It is a working museum with the goal of maintaining all vehicles in running order. Some cars are in showroom condition, while others represent typical aging.
The Museum has been developed in a well-known Nashville landmark, the former Sunbeam Bakery at 702 Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville, Tennessee.
