Of all the automotive activities that take place each year at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pa., the most popular ones among enthusiasts are the Spring Carlisle and Fall Carlisle extravaganzas.
Wrapping up the 2006 season, Fall Carlisle, hosted by Carlisle Events, didn't disappoint the thousands of hobbyists who were in search of parts, accessories and hard-to-find pieces for their upcoming winter projects. And if participants didn't have a project to work on during the cold, snowy months, the car corral provided copious cars, trucks, hot rods and customs for their consideration.
The huge event, which began on Sept. 27 and concluded Oct. 1, was filled to the brim with parts and literature vendors, cars and trucks for sale and thousands of hobbyists taking in the final Carlisle event of the season. Though Fall Carlisle is considered a "postwar car" event, vehicles and items from before World War II could be seen throughout the grounds.
Additionally, auto-related collectibles, such as gas pumps, oil cans and automotive toys and scale models, were also in abundance.
