Members pick up their registration forms — usually from behind the wheel of their Auburn, Cord or Duesenberg — making car spotting around the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum as good outside as it is inside the museum. Just don’t forget to head inside the museum, too.

A must-attend event that begins with hors d’oeuvres served in the Art Deco showrooms, followed by a gourmet dinner, open bar, silent and live auction and automobile auction (none of the automobiles sold are from the museum’s collection) to raise money for the educational programs at the museum. Just across Highway 69, there’s the wonderful Early Ford V-8 Foundation & Museum to help visitors get their Ford fix. Be sure to make time to visit this collection, which celebrates the engines and Ford Motor Co. vehicles of 1932-’53.

The streets around Auburn’s courthouse square are closed for the ACD Festival Cruise-In, which welcomes cars of all types to be displayed in the historic area. Bring a car or stroll to the square by foot to see the hundreds of stock and rodded cars and trucks displayed here.

Cars leave at 11:15 a.m. and return to Auburn at 2:30 p.m.
A newer event that promises Duesenbergs in motion. Cars will leave the Sycamore Hills Golf Course and head to Auburn.

Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club Car Show and Judging
Eckhart Park, Auburn
7 - 12 p.m.
Club members gather in Eckhart Park for a relaxed car show where marques are divided by brand with a separate section for unrestored survivors. From the show in Eckhart Park, Auburns, Cords and Duesenbergs form the famous Parade of Classics, which follows Auburn streets from the park to the town square.

Auburn Historic Tour
9 and 10 a.m. and 3 and 4 p.m. from the DeKalb Conty Fairgrounds parking lot
For just $5 per person, take a trip back in time and travel the tree-lined streets of Auburn in a comfortable 15-passenger air-conditioned bus. Learn the history associated with Auburn’s manufacturing boom in the early 1900s; find out how the Eckhart Carriage Company evolved from carriage and buggy making into the Auburn Automobile Company; see the legacy Charles Eckhart left to the city of Auburn in the form of two beautiful historic buildings – the Eckhart Public Library and YMCA. Tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.

2015 Thunder Run & Vintage Fly-In
Goshen (Indiana) Municipal Airport

For the 2015 Duesenberg Thunder Run, ACD fans will attempt to recreate 2010’s wildly successful Duesenberg Exhibition of Speed and Stinson Fly In, this time at the Goshen Municipal Airport. Dozens of Duesenbergs are expected to roar down 6,000 feet of runway with the exhaust cut-outs wide open. With priceless supercharged Duesenbergs set to race, including the Mormon Meteor, it should not be missed.
