After three weeks of packing up more than 150 engines, several cars, and semi loads of parts, the Corvette and Chevrolet muscle car collection of Donald Schlag of De Pere, Wisconsin, has been moved to Maryland by its new owner, Scott Milestone.
The deal to purchase the cars from Larry Fisette, who initially bought, cleared, and sorted Schlag's 21 trailers of cars and parts from his estate, was completed at the end of January, 2006. By the end of February, Milestone began hauling the cars and parts back to his warehouse, where he will sell them from through his online business, Classic Parts "R" Us, and internet auctions. But before that can be done, Milestone needs to catalog the parts and organize them on shelves.
"Right now, we're unpacking and organizing [the parts]," Milestone said. "Everything is taking so much longer than I thought."
Everything but the 1967 Corvette, which Fisette is restoring, the Yenko Camaro, and the two first-generation Corvettes, were bought by Milestone. (The two 1957 Corvettes were kept by Schlag's family.) The remainder of the cars, including the LS-6 Chevelles, the 1963 Corvette, 1964 Corvette, dune buggy, and International Scout, went with Milestone in the sale.
