The 2006 Iola Old Car Show swap meet field, which grew to 4,400-plus spaces this year, proved, once again, that the small, Midwestern town has one of the largest automotive swap meets in the country. It's not only big, but it's full of a variety of rare and wonderful old car treasures, too!
With near-perfect weather, vendors and spectators crowded the vast fields surrounding the F+W Publications building in search of the missing car part, unusual piece of petroliana, and pertinent automobilia. Everything from early brass-era car lamps and hubcaps to late-model wheels and accessories were found among the thousands of spaces. Judging by the high quantity of parts being carried out of the sales area by visitors, hobbyists were pleased with the pieces and the prices.
If you weren't able to attend this year's event, be sure to mark your 2007 calendar. The next Iola Old Car Show and Swap Meet is set for July 12-15. Be sure to be there!
