Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1987 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser

We can’t get enough of the big, bad and bold ’80s Toyota Land Cruisers. Heck yeah, we’d buy that!

Full disclosure: We are a suckers for 1980s (and after!) Toyota Land Cruisers. They were simply some of the biggest and best vehicles on American roadways, and the fact that they were sort of scarce made them extra cool.

They carried fat price tags, so a lot of American families looking for kid haulers and grocery getters couldn't afford them. Over the years every neighborhood had Dodge Caravans, Ford Explorers and plenty of Jeep Grand Cherokees roaming around, but the big Land Cruisers were relatively few and far between.

Now, like a lot of trucks and SUVs from those days, they are becoming very hot tickets. This one showed up in Fox Glenn, Ariz., on Craigslist, and the asking price is $23,000. It shows signs of some wear and tear and has 174,945 miles on the odometer, but these things will run for ever. Mad Max should have been driving one in post-apocalyptic Australia, and he would have had a lot fewer problems.
