Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45
The price might be a bit steep for our pocket book but… Man, this 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 checks off all the boxes for us.
OK, this one has touched off a bidding war on Bring a Trailer, so we can't honestly say "We'd Buy That!" because the price has already soared to $47,500 as of this writing. But if a bunch of guys weren't fighting over it, we'd definitely love to have this awesome '86 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45. These babies are clearly hot on the collector market, and it's not too hard to understand why. They are pretty scarce, and they are cool!
This example is a left-hand-drive pickup that "reportedly spent time in Panama before being imported to the United States in 2017. Finished in white with a black roof over a gray interior, the truck is powered by a numbers-matching 4.2-liter straight-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Features include 16″ steel wheels, lockable front hubs, power steering and brakes, a headache rack, air conditioning, and an aftermarket stereo. The truck reportedly underwent a refurbishment in Florida before being recently acquired by the selling dealer. This FJ45 is now offered with an Ohio title."
These things are rugged, manly, hard to find and definitely conversation pieces. We'd love to have this one! So do some other guys, and they are willing to pony up some considerable cash to bring it home.
