Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1977 Datsun 280Z
Arguably one of the kings of Japanese imports, Datsun’s sporty heritage is on display with this low-mileage 280Z. Yeah, we’d buy that!
A few short years ago, the Datsun 'Z' cars were certainly among the best bargain hobby cars in the hobby. They were, and probably still are, firmly on the Mt. Rushmore of Japanese imports. They might not be seen as quite the same sure-fire investment cars as their 240 predecessors — mostly because more of them were built and more of them survive — but if you have one and ever get tired of owning it, you'll have no trouble finding an interested buyer to take it off your hands.
This great 58,000-original-mile example will be up for Bids at Lucky Auction's 2022 Spring Classic, scheduled for June 4-5 at the LeMay Marymount Events Center in Tacoma, Wash.
The online listing claims the car has had just two owners and remains unmolested. If it runs as good as it looks, owner No. 3 is going to be a happy camper.
