Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I 3.8 Coupe Project

Patina project Jaguar XKE Series I might cost a pretty penny, but might be well worth it.

We've never seen an XKE with patina and wear-and-tear like this! That alone is reason enough for us to want to buy it!

True "project" XKE's don't really seem to show up on the market very often. They all seem to look awesome and ready for Pebble Beach.

This one showed up on Bring a Trailer, with the description: "non-running numbers-matching 3.8-liter inline-six is paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, triple SU carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and a wood-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob. Acquired by the seller in 2021, this XKE coupe project is now offered at no reserve with removed parts, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name."

If we could afford it, we'd get it running good and fix up the seats, and then drive 'er with the patina. It would certainly be a great attention getter. An "old beater" XKE? What could be better?
