Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1958 Edsel Corsair
A gold-and-white two-tone painted ’58 Edsel. Yeah, we’d buy that!
There're a lot of interesting cars for sale these days at Country Classic Cars in Staunton, Ill., and one that really got us to stop scrolling was this sweet 1958 Edsel Corsair two-door hardtop.
Everything about this baby just seems right! Even if you aren't an Edsel fan (and back then, not many folks were!), it's hard not to be impressed by this sweet thing. It's rare, it's got a great gold-and-white two-tone paint scheme and according to the listing "was recently rescued out of long-term storage and is in amazing original condition." And honestly, who doesn't want a car with a steering-wheel-mounted push-button transmission? We're throwing up a hand.
It runs, but apparently one cylinder in the 410-cid V-8 engine is going to need some investigating. Everything else seems pretty close to turn-key. It's listed for sale at $22,550.
