Old Cars We’d Buy That: 1950 Studebaker Champion coupe

Beauty is in the eye of the Studebaker faithful. We’d Buy that 1950 Studebaker Champion coupe in a heartbeat!

Oh please Mom, can we have one? Please, please, we won't ask for anything else ... for a while at least.

This bullet-nose beauty — or ugly duckling, depending on your taste — isn't one you see at every cruise-in. You just don't spot many of these little 1950 Studebaker Champion coupes around. They've got such a unique look with the funky pie plate/gun sight-looking thing in the nose, big ol' hips over the back wheels and that long back end.

She's a little strange looking, but we love her!! We love everything from her sun visor to her whitewalls. Complete with Plain Jane gray paint and a little 170-cid six under the hood, this car is said to have spent all 52,000-plus miles of its life in California before getting a "fantastic restoration."

It's going to be up for bids at the Raleigh Classic Auction May 30-April 1. We can't wait to see what this goes for. Somebody is sure to go home smiling.
