From reader Bill Macdonald

This is a picture of my father, Mac Macdonald, driving his pride and joy from Barton, Md., to central Wisconsin, where he had gotten a job as a lifeguard.

I remember him telling me that it was a fairly hairy drive, with many rough patches of not very well marked roads and a few pretty tough characters along the way. He camped in quite a few different spots (I think you can see his tarp tied on), and said it was one of the best times he ever had.

Whenever I look at this photo, it reminds me of where my interest in all sorts of neat cars probably came from.

I would like the car identified if possible. Thank you for your help.

Yours truly,
Bill Macdonald
