John Twist is getting ready for his 30th year of wintertime restoration seminars at his British car repair shop University Motors in Grand Rapids, Mich.

John Twist of University Motors, Grand Rapids, Mich., is shouting out to British car fans about his annual technical workshops in February. Twist points out that this year will mark 90 years since the "official" birth of the British-built MG, 40 years since his shop opened and 30 years of giving winter workshops.

“It is 40 years since the opening of University Motors as a full-time business,” he pointed out. “In four decades, we've had good and bad times, prosperity and lean years and fun and sadness, but the waves continue rolling.”

February brings the University Motors annual technical workshops. This year Twist will be offer a series of seminars on rebuilding the XPAG engine used in most T-Series MGs. Twist will also join restorer Carl Heideman in a "Tuning for Speed" seminar. A carbureter rebuild workshop will be the third offering.

“We have about 1,600 graduates from these seminars,” Twist pointed out. “We’ve been presenting them in February for the past 30 years.”
