Old Cars Reader Wheels: 1969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible
Old Cars spotlights a reader submitted 1969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible
Nancy Bourdreau sent us these pics of her dad with his Monza convertible. She also gave us a little background behind her dad's love of Corvairs as well as this special Monza convertible.
In 1975 at the age of 40, Herb Neumann Sr. of Inverness, Florida, bought his first Corvair. That Corvair was a 1965 4-door Monza and became the first of many to follow. Now at the age of 87, he owns a 1969 Monza convertible that many Covair enthusiasts would like to own themselves. This Monza is one of only 521 models that were built, it has 110 HP, with a 4-speed transmission, an AM/FM radio that was optional and all the interior is light green matching the same color as the car. Purchased in the Spring of 2020, this near perfect car is not for sale, as he hopes to continue driving it on a daily basis for the rest of his life. Herb is a current member of the Long Island Corvair Association and has been a member since 1973.
