Old Cars Reader Wheels: 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra

Old Cars spotlights a reader submitted 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra

It appears that Kevin Corressell has been bitten by the "snake" for quite some time. His Mustang SVT Cobra has drop-dead looks and is packing a punch to back it up. It is hard to fathom that this beauty is 17 years old.

Corressell had this to add about his impressive 'Stang...

"Attached are pictures of my 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra with 20k actual miles. Dynoed at 535hp/527tq on E85 and 16 lbs of boost (2.93 pulley) on the stock Eaton supercharger. This 4.6L 32v, V8, is a hand-built + forged bottom end racing motor. The SVT team only made these Mustangs for 2 years (2003-2004) with limited quantity. In 2005 the same SVT team made the Ford GTs.

My love for Mustangs started at an early age. My grandpa, who sold new Fords after WWII in Evansville, IN, showed his love of cars to my dad, who carried on the tradition of buying Fords. My father who is an avid Ford man would always take me to car shows and auctions when I was young. In 2003, when I was 10 years old, my dad and I drove from Evansville, IN to Carlisle, PA. I first saw a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra while at the 100th anniversary of Ford at the all-Ford Nationals Carlisle car show in 2003. At the young age of 10 I was amazed at how superchargers work and the whine of the blower. My father at the time jokingly said "you don't need a supercharger, just something more to go wrong." We still laugh at this today.

My father purchased this car in 2016. It was a one-owner/garage kept car with all original paint that my dad couldn't pass up. Obviously, I loved the car and wanted to buy it from my dad. In 2020 after saving up enough money; I was able to buy it from him."
