Old Cars Reader Wheels: 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS
Old Cars spotlights a reader’s 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS that has been by his side for over 53 years.
Henry Marshall is the proud owner of this sweet Malibu. Did I mention that he has been the ONLY owner of this sweet Malibu? The car has lived quite the extraordinary life over the years.
This is the story behind Henry's Chevelle...
"This car is a one owner car that is still in my possession today. I ordered the car in February 1969. Delivered to Mark Chevrolet in Wayne, MI. in March 1969 at a cost of $3358. It is a 4-speed, 2 dr. hardtop with 325 h.p. and SS interior."
"I drove it all year around until 1978. It has been driven to both coasts, and has pulled a camper out west and also to Washington D.C. It has also traveled to Pittsburgh, as well as the upper peninsula of Michigan while camping. I drove my wife to the hospital and back home with our two newly born sons in the Chevelle. I drag raced the car in D / Stock and E.T. classes at various drag strips in Michigan, during the 1970's through the late 1980's. The car had the stock 325 h.p. motor as well as a 427 big block. Times in the quarter ranged from the high 14's to mid 12 seconds."
"It has been repainted in the original color and has been stored during the winter the last 25 years. It is a true family heirloom for over 53 years."
