Old Cars Reader Wheels: 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix
From boat hauler to head turner, Old Cars spotlights a reader’s 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix.
It might be safe to say Rich Richardson’s Grand Prix has been unhooked from the boat hitch for good. Rich tells us the story behind his sweet Poncho…
"This car was purchased new by my uncle in Seattle Washington. It was used to haul his boat on the weekends. In 1977 it was parked in my grandmothers yard and left. In the summer of 1983, at the age of 15, I saw this car for the first time. When I asked about it I was told that they just hadn't gotten around to hauling it off to the junk yard. When I expressed interest in the car they laughed and said I was welcome to it. Well, I got it running and returned the next year to drive it back home to WI (an adventure in itself). I drove it through the rest of high school and drug it around with me for the next 20 years in various states of disassembly. We finally focused on it and spent 10 years on the restoration and here is the result."
