Old Cars spotlights a reader submitted 1963 Cadillac Series 62 four-window sedan.
Tim Granger had a neighbor who had a cousin that needed help cleaning his barn out. I am sure all of us would have rolled up our sleeves if we knew '63 Cadillacs were lurking inside.
Tim gave us the low down on how he came to own this awesome Cadillac.
"I got this Caddy 8 years ago when my neighbor told me his cousin was cleaning out the barn and wanted to know if I wanted this old Caddy that was in there, at first I told him no that I had enough problems with my '66 Toronado! Well, two weeks went by and he asked me again, so I went and looked at it. After he opened the barn door, and I saw it, I knew it was calling me to save it! It was a one owner car, the people that bought it new passed away and no one wanted it. It sat in the barn for 28 years and the mice NEVER got into it! Unbelievable! No rust or dents anywhere, it had 58,000 miles on it. I paid him $1000.00 for it. Don’t get me wrong, I had to put plenty of money into it. It now has 72,000 miles on it, I live in Illinois, and my wife and I drove it to St Paul, Minnesota to 'Back to the Fifties' and 'Knoxville Street Rod Nationals.' It’s a great old cruiser that I’m proud and lucky to own. P.S. that’s the same paint."
