Old Cars Reader Wheels: 1960 Plymouth Savoy

Old Cars spotlights a reader’s one-family owned 1960 Plymouth Savoy.

Ben Deutschman is the proud owner of this sensational Savoy. He has kept this beauty in the family.

Here is what Ben had to add about the specifics of his Plymouth…

"I've owned and operated by our family since new. The car was purchased originally by my dad on June 13, 1960 at Rossmeyer Chrysler/Plymouth of Metuchen, New Jersey."

"The car was built at the Newark Delaware Assembly Plant on May 26, 1960, which coincidentally is my late mother's birthday, and it was due to her insistence, that Dad varied from his standard fare of 3-speed manual transmission, and bought an automatic transmission car. As Mom put it, "I didn't want to be on the clutch all day driving that car around town." See, as was the case back then, what is now my 1960 Plymouth Savoy, did double duty, during the week it was Mom's taxi and grocery getter, on weekends, it was the family car."
