William Gillies sent us a pic of his Customline that has a minuscule 26,000 original miles on the odometer.
He had this to add...
"Enclosed is a picture of my 1953 Ford Customline that has 26000 original miles on the odometer. It has all original, paint, upholstery, clock & radio. I bought it from a lady in Michigan who kept it in a garage inside a pole barn. She would not drive it if it was raining or if there was dew on the grass. From the data plate the car was built in the Memphis, TN Ford assembly plant in August of 1953. Because it was late in the build year I believe that is why it has 1954 hubcaps.
After going through the brakes, gas tank, adding seat belts and new tires, my wife and I drove it to Montana last year on a National Early Ford V8 tour. While it drives like a modern car it likes to slurp up the gas."
