Old Cars Reader Wheels: 1950 Mercury Meteor tudor

Old Cars features a reader’s 1950 Mercury Meteor tudor affectionately named “Sugar Plum.”

Gary Chittenden's Canadian Mercury. This Meteor was given the ’50s "Kustom" treatment as well. Gary gave us the scoop on what has been done to this impressive Merc…

"Sugar Plum" is a 1950 Meteor tudor. Made only in Canada she is fairly rare. Based on the Ford it sold by Mercury dealers, as an entry-level Mercury. Basically a Ford with special trim. She has the 239 flathead V8 with a standard transmission. She is done up like a young fella would have done it in the mid-fifties, lowered 2 inches in the rear for that speed-boat look, new Double Diamond WWW radials, Lakes pipes, Fulton visor, dummy spots, bubble skirts, whip antenna and a purple paint job that changes with the lighting."
