Auburn, Indiana. -  Worldwide Auctioneers returns to Arizona in January for its annual boutique sale, The Scottsdale Auction, scheduled for Wednesday, January 26th at the start of Arizona Car Week. 

1929 Duesenberg Model J Berline Worldwide Auctioneers

Among the distinguished offering of spectacular pre-war automobiles slated for this year’s sale is a striking example of one of the world’s most significant motorcars, a Pebble Beach award-winning 1929 Duesenberg Model J Berline, one of the first Duesenberg Model Js delivered when new, with Fred Buess, Homer Fitterling, Ed Weaver and Richard Burdick on its roster of former owners. 

1935 Delahaye 135M Competition Drophead Coupe Worldwide Auctioneers

No less important is an extraordinary 1935 Delahaye 135M Competition Drophead Coupe, one of only four Delahayes built by Figoni in 1935 and the last known survivor. Certified by Club Delahaye of France, this singular automobile made its debut at the 1935 Paris Motor Show and has since been the recipient of a painstaking five-year research and restoration effort that has included many of the greatest French authorities on the marque. 

1932 Chrysler CH Imperial Cabriolet Worldwide Auctioneers

Also crossing the block in Scottsdale is an impeccably documented and outstandingly restored 1932 Chrysler CH Imperial Cabriolet, historically significant as the very first car crafted by famed European coachbuilders Bohman & Schwartz, numbers-matching and presented in concours-level condition, a dizzying work of beauty with a provenance that truly sets it apart. Other pre-war highlights in the sale include a 1939 Packard Darrin, formerly owned by film star Preston Foster, one of the fourteen original Hollywood Darrins with documentation that includes a copy of a Howard ‘Dutch’ Darrin signed letter, and an award-winning, factory supercharged 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Phaeton with ACD Certification. Notable consignments also include an expertly restored factory black 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T with factory N96 shaker hood, documented with original broadcast sheet, and a 1957 Dual Ghia Convertible, number 24 of only 100 produced and 71 still in existence, with stunning Italian coachwork. Embodying the perfect marriage of art and function is a wonderful authentic Duesenberg Model J Engine J-432, fully restored by Brian Joseph’s Classic & Exotic Service, presented complete and built-to-run on custom rolling stand, with an accompanying display grille and radiator that also comes mounted on custom stand. The Scottsdale Auction will also feature one of the most detailed and correct early Ford V-8 collections to come to market, with 35 great examples from The Ron Thorne Collection slated to go under the hammer, completely without reserve.
