Wagons & Woodies head to Northeast Classic Car Museum

On May 18, the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich, N.Y., will present its new exhibit, “Wagons & Woodies: From Depot Hack to Station Wagon.”

Production photo of Wagonmasters, a full-length documentary film, that offers glimpses into the lives of such wagon enthusiasts, and tells the story of the station wagon as it represents a changing America over the last one hundred years.

On May 18, the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich, N.Y., will present its new exhibit, “Wagons & Woodies: From Depot Hack to Station Wagon.”

Nearly 20 classic vehicles will be displayed and will showcase the evolution of the station wagon from the early days of travel through the iconic styles of the’50s, ’60s and ’70s.

This special exhibit will run through April 2014, and will feature vehicles from a 1924 Buick Depot Hack to a 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.

The Northeast Classic Car Museum also will show an original, unreleased documentary film, Wagonmasters. This film, produced by Wake Forest University Graduate Students Sam Smartt and Chris Zaluski, “tells the story of the station wagon as it represents a changing America over the last 100 years.”
