The Savoy Automobile Museum is now open the public. They currently are hosting five separate displays.
The Savoy Automobile Museum is officially open to the public! With the help of dedicated and hard-working contractors, subcontractors, and employees, the musem is ready to roll out the red carpet for guests. Savoy joins an exceptional group of museums that serve the communities of Georgia and the southeast, including Booth Western Art Museum, Bartow History Museum, and Tellus Science Museum, all programs of Georgia Museums, Inc.
Now on Display at the Savoy Automobile Museum
In the Great Hall - American Racing
The American Racing Collection exhibits cars driven by Richard Petty, Dick Landy, Courtney Hizer, and Bobby Rahal. Don't forget to check out Mark Thompson's 2018 Ford NASCAR. Other exciting race cars on loan from private collections include: the 1969 Dodge Daytona, on loan from the Wellborne Musclecar Museum, Petty's 1970 Plymouth Superbird and Dick Landy's '71 Dodge Challenger Drag Car are on loan from the Todd Werner Collection.
Now on Display in Gallery A - The Great American Classics
Visit Gallery A to preview some classic American-made vehicles dating all the way back to the 1920s. Highlights of this gallery include the 1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow, on loan from the Richard H. Driehaus Collection, in Chicago and one of only five made. A second must see in the gallery is the 1930 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Sedan meticulously restored and on loan from the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum.
Now on Display in Gallery B - Woodies
Station wagon woodies are the epitome of classic American family car. Step into Gallery B to explore some of the popular woodies that put thousands of American families on wheels! Before you leave the gallery be sure to notice the large art piece produced by Cube Works of the 1946 Mercury Woodie Wagon consisting of 903 Rubik Cubes.
Now on Display in Gallery C - Orphans
Orphans is one exhibit you will not want to miss! This gallery highlights American-made vehicles from lesser known automotive companies. One vehicle visitors will want to see is the 1948 Tucker on loan from Howard Kroplich's private collection. Check out the rare Tucker and other forgotten vehicles in the Orphans exhibit.
Now on Display in Gallery D - The Savoy Collection
Each vehicle included in the Savoy Collection has a significant story to share. A must-see in Gallery D is the 1954 Kaiser Darrin. This novelty car brings some serious attitude and drama with its pursed-lips grill and sliding Darrin doors. Get lost in the beauty.
