The Richard Driehaus collection’s director, Stephen Murphy to lecture at the Savoy Automobile Museum on April 3rd
Selections from the Driehaus Collection will be discussed by its director, Stephan Murphy on April 3rd at the Savoy Automobile Museum.
Cartersville, GA - Join the Savoy Automobile Museum on April 3, 2022 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the Savoy Theatre as Stephen Murphy presents "Selected Pieces from the Richard H. Driehaus Automobile Collection." His presentation highlights several cars from the Driehaus Collection currently on display at Savoy as part of The Great American Classics exhibit as well as vehicles from the Collection that will be included in the upcoming American Art Deco exhibit, slated to open on April 5, 2022 at Savoy.
About the Speaker
Stephen Murphy - Director, The Richard H. Driehaus Automobile Collection
Stephen manages all aspects of the Richard Driehaus collection, from day-to-day operations to acquisitions and strategic planning and PR. He is an ASE™ certified automotive repair technician and master collision repair technician with twenty years of restoration experience under his belt. He believes in mentorship and “passing it forward” in all aspects of life. As such, he serves as an ambassador for the RPM Foundation and is actively involved with the automotive programs of the Chicago area schools and community colleges.
He is a lifetime member of the Classic Car Club of America, the Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Chicago Art Deco Society. He enjoys interesting cars and motorbikes, and gets to enjoy them regularly in the US and abroad. He guest judges cars at a number of US and foreign car shows. His innate curiosity feeds his interest in history and both old and cutting edge technologies, and he shares his knowledge eagerly.
Part of 'Hoods Up!' Weekend
Murphy's lecture is offered in conjunction with our "Hoods Up!" Weekend, April 1 - 3. On these specific dates Savoy will lift the hoods on select vehicles in the museum to give guests an opportunity to peer under the hoods of some remarkable vehicles.
