What appears to be record crowds for a Wednesday are jamming Westworld, home of the 43rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Auction as today nearly 300 vehicles are slated to cross the auction block. Nearly every seat in the public grandstand area has been taken and throughout the show field where many of the cars are on display, the aisles are jammed with people checking out the cars and trucks to be auctioned.

Bonhams is gearing up for their 2nd annual Scottsdale sale and they have a wide range of vehicles slated to cross the block on Thursday. During out preview today we fell in love with several items, such as a 1959 Chevrolet Apache 31 ½-ton pickup, with NAPCO 4-wheel drive. One of the most amazing vehicles Bonham’s will be offering is a 1903 Oldsmobile “Curved Dash” Model R runabout, original and un-restored with the original decals and pin-striping.

A selection of about 175 pieces of automotive related collectibles will be offered including several Lalique mascots. (Last summer in Monterey, Bonham’s sold an original “Fox” Lalique mascot for $380,000!)

Among some of the other items is an original sign that was displayed at Mickey Thompsen’s headquarters featuring an illustration of his World Land Speed record-setting Challenger car. Record prices are expected on several lots.
