AUBURN, Ind. − Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and noted car collector, Reggie Jackson, will be making his way to Auburn, Indiana this spring to watch his prized 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 (chassis no. SFM5S129) go under the hammer at the Auctions America by RM inaugural ‘Auburn Spring Collector Car Auction’, May 12–15, 2011, at the 235-acre Auburn Auction Park.
This 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 (estimate of $175,000-$225,000) is a superbly presented car, highly original and well maintained. Its sale represents a terrific opportunity to own an outstanding GT350 from the first production year of the Shelby Mustang, and from the private collection of none other than “Mr. October.”
“We’re very pleased that RM’s long-time friend, Reggie Jackson, has chosen Auctions America’s inaugural Auburn Spring event as the venue to offer his highly-desirable Shelby Mustang for sale,” said Donnie Gould, president, Auctions America by RM. “We invite all automotive enthusiasts and their families to join us in Auburn this May for the first of what is sure to become a spring tradition for the collector car community.”
Over the course of the weekend, 1,000 motor cars and motorcycles will cross the auction podium. The swap meet and car corral, hosted by Carlisle Events, will see hundreds of vendors set up shop at the park to complete the weekend event.
For those unable to attend the auction in person, it will stream live on the Internet at www.auctionsamerica.com. Remote bidding options include Internet, telephone and absentee.
