Mike Jackson to receive lifetime achievement award

Award to be presented at 2010 Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance

Mike Jackson, best known for his more than 10 years with the country’s largest auto retailer, AutoNation, will receive the award on Feb. 20, 2010 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, in Boca Raton, Fla.

“Each year, the Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance honors an automotive industry leader for their dedication to the automobile world and automotive business endeavors,” said Rick Case, founder of the Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance. “Fittingly this year, Mike Jackson, known for his decades of commitment in the automotive business arena as well as his media-appointed role as national spokesperson for all of the auto dealers nationwide, has been chosen.”

Jackson has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of AutoNation for more than 10 years. He was the successor to legendary Wayne Huizenga who started the company. He has served as CEO and on the Board of Directors since September 1999 and chairman of the board since January 2003. 

He also served as president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz US, LLC where he led a renaissance in the luxury vehicle brands sales and marketing efforts. He was an automotive retailer as the managing partner of Euro Motorcars of Bethesda, Md, which operated 11 new vehicle franchises. And, he has served as a Mercedes-Benz district manager and as chairman of the M-B National Dealer Council.
