Jerry’s Classic Cars & Collectibles Museum, Pottsville, PA, will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.
What started out as a hobby and a place to house a collection of classic cars soon took on a life of its own. In 1996 Jerry Enders and wife Janet opened the early 1900’s former Morgan Studebaker dealership as a local Museum. Featuring classic cars and automobilia, the Museum has grown over the years to be one of the top tourist attractions in Schuylkill County, and the #2 rated attraction in the county by Trip Advisor. Now with over 20,000 items of interest on display, and a unique collection of 50s and 60s cars, Jerry’s has something for everyone.
As you enter the front door of the Museum, you will take a trip back in time, with the 1950s Atlantic gas station mural, the service bell that rings for a gas attendant, and two floors packed with memorabilia to explore and enjoy.
On the second floor of the Museum you will find the 1950s snack bar, library, millinery and barbershop, drive-in theater, a 1960s band stand, vintage bar room, a complete auto parts store, and even a late 1800s blacksmith shop. Be sure to bring your camera—there are lots of photos you will want to take.
Jerry’s Museum has been host to the Great Pottsville Cruise, featuring the original Batmobile; celebrities like the Queen of Cars, Genevieve Chappell from California; and Dennis Gage who has made three appearances. This year, The Great Pottsville Cruise is Saturday August 13, and the Museum will be open from 9 am – 5 pm.
Every year thousands of car lovers and car clubs visit Jerry’s from all over the country and around the world. Fall Carlisle and the Hershey Car Show always bring visitors from Holland, Sweden, Canada, and many more countries.
There is always something new. Each year new items are displayed, and classic vehicles are rotated throughout the season.
The Museum is open from May through October on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Noon to 5 pm. The Museum is always available for car clubs and bus tours, and for groups throughout the week by appointment. There is a general admission, with discounts for seniors, veterans, AAA members, AACA members, and groups.
