Iola Car Show announces ‘Fall Back to Iola Flea Market and Swap Meet’ scheduled for Labor Day weekend
The Iola Car Show is in the planning stages of a Labor Day weekend flea market and swap meet.
Iola, WI - Iola Car Show officials have announced they’ve begun planning for a 2-day flea market and swap meet to be held at the Iola Car Show Grounds this September 5 and 6.
“This event will be very different from our traditional car show and swap meet,” explained Executive Director, Joe Opperman. “We’re planning this with a very basic format, based on simple criteria and first-come, first-serve of spaces with no pre-registration.”
Show coordinators say they have received numerous requests from swap market vendors for a venue to do commerce.
"With other summer events rescheduling, we wanted to solidify a date for our staff and vendors to begin planning. We’re also developing this event very carefully with the understanding that should circumstances dictate a cancellation, it will be much simpler to 'pull the plug' than our flagship July event.”
Details of the event are evolving even as staff and volunteers are preparing for the July 11 Rally for Iola fundraising cruise. Organizers say they will release more details as they become available. At this time, the swap and flea market area are the focus, but the possibility of show cars and camping have not been ruled out.
