Excaliburs to Wienermobiles: A night with William ‘Steve’ Stevens

The Studebaker National Museum to host son of Brooks Stevens, William “Steve” Stevens for an in-depth exploration of Brooks Stevens’ lifetime achievements on September 27th.

South bend, Ind. - Join industrial designer Brooks Stevens’ son, William “Steve” Stevens for an in-depth exploration of the design work his father did for Studebaker, which led to the famous “Mercebaker” that became the Excalibur. Mr. Stevens will discuss the two-decade run and legacy of the Excalibur, and his work designing the famous line of Wienermobiles for Oscar-Mayer. Period images and vehicle models will be available for guests to check out after the talk. The Studebaker National Museum will also be open until 7:30 pm, and guests are encouraged to explore the current special exhibition—Mid-Century Master: The Designs of Brooks Stevens.

Tickets include admission to the museum, access to the exhibition—Mid-Century Master: The Designs of Brooks Stevens—and the talk in the Wiekamp Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 pm; the theater program will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Because seating is limited, advanced ticket purchase is strongly recommended.
