New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, will participate in the New Orleans auction with the consignment of his very own 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS.

NEW ORLEANS – The Vicari Auction Company is returning to the Big Easy for its 5th annual New Orleans Collector Car Auction on July 11. Up to 200 classics are expected to cross the auction block during the July auction held at Mardi Gras World on the New Orleans East Bank.

The New Orleans Saints star quarterback, Drew Brees, will participate in the New Orleans auction with the consignment of his very own 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. "The Camaro is undoubtedly one of the most iconic muscle cars of the '60s, and we are pleased that Drew Brees has chosen Vicari Auction to assist him with the sale of his classic car," said Pete Vicari, owner of Vicari Auction.

Mr. Brees' Camaro began its' life when it rolled off the assembly line in Norwood, Ohio, over 40 years ago. This 1969 Camaro SS is powered by a numbers matching 396 cubic inch V-8, and is paired with a period correct 350 automatic transmission. The Camaro is well dressed in the factory color code 72, Hugger Orange, with black fender stripes and new black sport coupe vinyl roof. The interior has been updated while maintaining its factory specifications, and boasts bucket seats, a center front seat console and horseshoe style shifter. Other notable features include dual exhaust, and power brakes with disc fronts and rear drums.

The 1969 Camaro was more refined than its '67 and 68' predecessors, looking longer and sitting lower as well as having a sportier hood, flattened wheel wells, and rear slanting air slots near the rear wheels.

While buying this classic is a fantastic opportunity alone, Mr. Brees has sweetened the deal by offering an autographed jersey, pair of autographed game cleats, four tickets to a game during the 2015 season, and a meet and greet with up to 10 people at the Saints facility for the successful winning bidder.

Louisiana Collector Car Appreciation weekend kicks off with Vicari Auction on Saturday with gates opening at 8 am for the Classic Car Auction. The Vicari Auction begins at 9 am with nearly 200 lots of automotive memorabilia from the Pete Vicari Collection, followed by classic automobiles.

A classic car show will be held in the Mardi Gras Float Den from 8 am to 4:30 pm at no charge with a paid entry to the auction. Additionally, Richard Sznerch, a former Disney artist, will sell original artist prints at the auction to raise funds for Children's Hospital this year.

Pre-registration is highly recommended for bidders and consignors, although on-site registration is available upon arrival. On-site financing is available from Keesler Federal Credit Union.
