Diecast Toy Exchange hosts annual Matchbox Toy Show at AACA Museum
The Diecast Toy Exchange is again hosting a Matchbox Collector’s show at the museum from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sept. 22.
HERSHEY, Pa. – If you're a collector or fan of Matchbox cars then the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum has just the event for you. The Diecast Toy Exchange is again hosting a Matchbox Collector's show at the museum from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sept. 22.
The event will allow visitors to add to or begin a Matchbox collection as all cars will be for sale. Vendors will be showcasing toy cars from the entire history of Matchbox – from the first car in the 1950s all the way through present day vehicles. To support this event, the AACA Museum is offering $5 admission (half the regular admission price) to encourage families to attend this one-day show.
This Matchbox toy show is a top-notch collector's event where you are sure to see some rare collectibles as many of the best Matchbox dealers from the East Coast will be on hand with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cars for visitors and enthusiasts to enjoy.
New for this year, there will two limited-edition collectible Matchbox cars for sale at the event. A 1957 Chevy will be available with a limited issue of 75 pieces and a Ford Aeromax Truck will be available with a limited issue of only 45 pieces. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the amazing detail put into these miniature cars, which are approximately 1:64 scale models of full-size cars.
First-time visitors to the AACA Museum will be able to enjoy dozens of full-size antique cars, buses and motorcycles has three other special featured exhibits this summer:
Pop Culture and Cars - a Retro Adventure showcases vehicles and memorabilia from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. From Poodle skirts to Elvis, from The Beatles to Jimi Hendrix and from Smokey and Bandit to Saturday Night Fever light up dance floors and disco balls - we'll bring back the fun and nostalgia of these decades.
The British Invasion - A retrospective of British motorcycles imported to America from the 1940s - 1970s when the power, performance, chrome and color of the great English machines dominated American racetracks and streets.
Beautiful Buicks celebrates the 110th Anniversary of Buick vehicles over the decades.

The Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, a member of the Smithsonian Institution Affiliations Program, displays beautifully restored automobiles, buses and motorcycles in unique life-like scenes representing the 1900s-1970s in a cross-country journey from New York to San Francisco.
