“Evolution of BIGFOOT,” new temporary exhibit opens at the Savoy Automobile Museum.

CARTERSVILLE, GEORGIA - The Savoy Automobile Museum in Cartersville, GA announced the opening of their newest temporary exhibit, Evolution of BIGFOOT. The original BIGFOOT began as a 1974 Ford F-250 pickup that was modified by its owner, Bob Chandler, beginning in 1975. In 1979, Chandler replaced the under assembly of the truck with one from a military-surplus top loader featuring four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering that used 48-inch (120 cm) tires. This exhibit explores the evolution of the phenomenon that is BIGFOOT featuring BIGFOOT #1 (1975; the original monster truck), BIGFOOT #8 "First CAD-designed Monster Truck", and BIGFOOT #20 "First and only electric Monster Truck". In addition, joining the others on October 17 will be the 1987 Ford BIGFOOT Cruiser F-250 4x4, BIGFOOT Blue. This exhibition will be on display from October 3, 2023 - February 4, 2024.

Savoy Automobile Museum is open to the public Tuesday – Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Admission to the museum is complimentary for members. Non-members are $15 for ages 13 and older, $5 for youth ages 3 - 12, and complimentary admission is provided to children 2 and under and active military with ID.
