The Milwaukee Masterpiece in Milwaukee, Wis., Aug. 21-22 will celebrate the automobile as art in a full weekend of events along the city’s scenic lakefront in Veteran’s Park.
Activities for The Milwaukee Masterpiece, now in its sixth year, will include Club Day on Saturday. Over 25 local and regional clubs will display their finest, representing American power, European sports cars, hot rods and world class exotics. Every year welcomes a number of clubs attending for the first time, with over 175 vehicles expected this year.
Also on Saturday, you may catch a glimpse of past and present Concours d’Elegance exhibitors as they enjoy a driving tour of the city and countryside. This year’s tour will travel north through Milwaukee’s North Shore to Wisconsin’s rolling Kettle Moraine. The concours vehicles will leave the lakefront at approximately 9:30 a.m. and wind through the streets of Milwaukee’s east side and North Shore, arriving at Lime Kiln Park in Grafton for a brief stop around 10:30 a.m., departing for the return trip around 11:30 a.m.
The Concours d’Elegance on Sunday will honor history’s most beautiful cars, from charming antiques to fire-breathing muscle cars. Featured this year will be the Duesenberg, as well as the Alfa Romeo, which celebrates its 100th anniversary. Visitors can expect to experience unique automobiles from across the United States and Europe.
Based on its success in 2009, Ferrari will become a permanent feature at The Milwaukee Masterpiece. Co-Chairs Alan Boe and Matt Backhaus have promised that the 2010 Ferrari showing will be second to none.
Events both days are from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, call 414-225-1342, or visit www.milwaukeemasterpiece.com.
