With an artist’s eye, Lincoln museum takes shape

HICKORY CORNERS, Mich. – Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS) member Jack Juratovic is spearheading the design of the interior themes of the Lincoln Motor Car Foundation Heritage Museum, the newest addition to the Gilmore Car Museum campus.
Juratovic will design and create the display for the Lincoln Museum that will surround the brand’s beautiful classic automobiles.
“I’m honored to be involved with the interior design of the Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum,” said Juratovic. “My vision is to design an elegant theme for the 15,000-sq. ft. building that will portray the past, present and future of the Lincoln automobile.”
After inviting four Lincoln affinity clubs to fund a historic museum on the Gilmore campus, officials broke ground for the Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum on June 1, 2013. As a current Lincoln Motor Car Foundation member with an extensive automotive art and design record, Juratovic was chosen to design the interior of the new Lincoln museum.
The Lincoln building will reside in a prominent location within the Gilmore site. The interior design will be created by Juratovic to include fellow AFAS artists’ world-class Lincoln art works. The design will portray major Lincoln milestones including Ford’s acquisition of the company, Henry Ford II piloting the Continental Indianapolis 500 pace car in 1946, Lincoln’s 1950s Pan American Road racing domination and much more.
The Gilmore Car Museum opened its doors in 1966 and currently displays more than 250 vintage vehicles in 15 historic buildings. The Lincoln clubs have chosen to utilize their education foundation as the repository for the required funds to help build, design and furnish the building.
