Artcurial Motorcars hammers home $19.1 million in sales at Rétromobile 2024 auction
Artcurial Motorcars’ February 2-3 Rétromobile 2024 auction showcased supercars and classics and saw an impressive $19.1 million in sales.
Artcurial Motorcars - The official Rétromobile 2024 auction, organized for the thirteenth consecutive year within the exhibition center, which saw record attendance this year with over 125,000 people, achieved a total amount of 17,792,329€ / $19,158,780 including fees. Maître Hervé Poulain, accompanied by Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff, conducted the auction for more than 6 hours, during which 75% of the offered models found buyers. One of the showcased supercars, a 2014 McLaren P1, was sold for 1,358,800€ / $1,465,058 with only 9354 km on the odometer and 375 units built.
Among the 25 prestigious collections presented by the Motorcars department, the six vehicles from 'The GT Lamborghini Collection,' presented on stage by Fabio Lamborghini, were sold for a total of 1,231,336€ / 1,327,626$.
Notably under Anne Claire Mandine's hammer, a BMW M1 Procar was sold for 1,015,584€ / 1,095,002$.
The Mercedes 300 SLs enjoyed success, especially the magnificent Papillon coupe, acquired for 1,427,440€ / 1,539,065$, celebrating the model's 70th anniversary in style.
In the 'sortie de grange' category, the historical Delaunay-Belleville HB6 Coupé-Chauffeur, celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, was sold for 113,240€ / 122,095$.
Among the most anticipated cars, a Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix by Gilles Fournier was sold for 405,280€ / 436,972$ benefiting the Parkinson's association.
