Cord 810 and owner Josh Malks known for their worldwide travels

Betty Malks has donated the late Josh B. Malks' 1936 Cord 810 Westchester sedan to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn, Ind. Malks was recognized around the world as the foremost authority on the 1936 Cord 810 and 1937 Cord 812 models designed by Gordon Buehrig, having written "Cord 810/812: The Timeless Classic" (published by Old Cars Weekly in 1995) and "Cord Complete" (Jericho Publications, 2009). Malks was also the longtime editor of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club's publication, The Newsletter, and an early club member.

The ACD Automobile Museum also acknowledges the extraordinary story of Malks' Cord, which he named "Moonshadow." During Mr. Malks’ ownership, this Cord traveled on three continents. From the Swiss Alps to the Dead Sea, this Cord drove tens of thousands of miles. It performed an annual pilgrimage to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Reunion over Labor Day week. Many of Malks' experiences with "Moonshadow" were recorded in The Newsletter.

Through Mr. Malks’ tireless efforts and his use of this Cord, he was able to preserve and tell the amazing story of the Cord 810/812 automobile.

The museum did not announce when the car will be placed on display.
